Templates and family library not installed or missing in revit or revit lt. Download any content you need using 'load autodesk family' (click the insert tab > load from library panel > load autodesk family ) a cloud service that lets you download and access only the content you need.
Missing family load library files. I had exactly the same problem with missing family templates.
Install The Latest Version Of The Content Pack:
C:\programdata\autodesk\ \libraries navigate to that location and see if it contains revit family folders and files.
